The Intel Xeon Scalable processors present an impressive 50% bandwidth increase and 27% more processing cores compared to its predecessor, the E5-2600 v4 processor. Supporting either the first or second generation with up to 20 cores, the R540 server is flexible and ready for a range of workloads depending on what performance and storage capacity is required. There are four different processor models to choose from – Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum.
For memory, the two-processor configuration allows for a maximum of 16 DDR4 memory modules with a maximum of 1TB available using Load Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules running at speeds up to 2666MT/s with the second-generation Intel Scalable processors. The RDIMM memory modules are limited to a maximum of 512GB.
