The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Server is a cost-efficient and user-friendly 2U system for running multi-workload applications. Featuring dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, each socket is equipped with 12 DIMM slots that result in a total of 24 DIMM slots across the system board. On the front, it can have up to 12 Large Form Factor (LFF) 3.5-inch drive bays, or up to 24 Small Form Factor (SFF) 2.5-inch drive bays. Additionally, 6x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots and 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots are available.
Performance-wise, the server can accommodate one or two 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, offering CPUs with 4 to 28 Physical Cores per socket. To ensure optimal temperature levels, it uses a bank of four fans for single processor deployment, and six fans for dual processors. For those using the system with full hard drive configuration and other specific configurations, six high-performance fans are recommended.
When it comes to memory, each processor has six memory channels, with two memory modules per channel, all of which are active when two processors are installed. The maximum memory supported depends on CPU, memory modules, and configuration. Depending on the type of modules used, the server can have up to 3TB or 6TB of memory. Supported memory modules are UDIMM, RDIMM, LRDIMM, NVMe (NVDIMM) modules, and Intel Optane Persistent memory modules (PMem). However, NVDIMMs are only compatible with first-gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, while PMem modules require 2nd generation CPUs. Moreover, mixing different types of memory modules is not allowed. For the 3TB memory configuration, 128GB DDR4 modules are employed, while the 6TB option needs HPE 512GB 2666 Persistent Memory Kit.
